The Nothing Phone (3) is getting a fresh round of updates with the rollout of Nothing OS V3.5-250911-2112. If you’ve got your hands on this phone, get ready for some changes that focus mainly on camera performance, battery life, and a couple of system tweaks that promise to make everyday usage just a bit nicer.
Let’s start with what most people care about, which is, the camera. After this update, you’ll notice manually adjusting the exposure slider is now smoother and easier to control. Scenes that previously looked a bit off due to unwanted tints should now have natural, more balanced colours. They’ve also refined the AI SuperRes Zoom, so if you’re zooming into text, things look sharper compared to before.
Action Mode has been worked on, so noise and grains are reduced, making motion shots clearer. If you use a lot of third-party apps for snapping photos, the overall clarity feels improved. Video recording also gets a lift with better contrast and richer colours, so your clips pop even more.
For the rest of the phone, the update brings stability improvements and some useful bug fixes. Always-on Glyph Toys have a better display in multi-user mode. A strange bug where you could see duplicate contact avatars when adding rules for Essential Notifications is sorted out. Haptic feedback when previewing notification modes is more consistent.
If you use the Arabic language, the title in the About phone screen lines up nicely now. The Bluetooth device recording interface has been upgraded for clarity, and you can find this tweak in Sound & Vibration settings. In terms of battery, the update optimizes consumption, especially for certain usage scenarios, and heating is reduced, so the phone stays cooler during heavy use. Wi-Fi and network connections are also more stable after the update.
Remember, this rollout is staggered, so not everyone will get the update at the same time. After you install it, the phone might run warmer and use more power, but Nothing says this settles down quickly once the process is complete. So, don’t panic, everyone with an eligible device will receive the good stuff.
