Nissan is set to make a striking appearance at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo, where it will showcase a lineup of bold concept vehicles. Among these, the fourth concept vehicle revealed so far is an ultra-angular compact crossover that features an abundance of angular shapes, 23-inch wheels, and a design resembling origami-style art. The vehicle’s headlights and taillights seamlessly blend into the body’s surface.
The interior of the Hyper Punk concept is equally futuristic, completely abandoning traditional switchgear. Instead, the vehicle relies on a few touch keys on the unique, edgy steering “wheel.” Surrounding the driver are origami-inspired elements, creating an environment Nissan describes as a “mobile creative studio.” The Hyper Punk concept is tailored for influencers and content creators.
To cater to this audience, Nissan has equipped the vehicle with onboard cameras that capture the surroundings and apply artificial intelligence to transform them into magna-styled scenery. The converted images are displayed on three screens on the dashboard, with a central vertical display flanked by two horizontal screens. Artificial intelligence serves a dual purpose by working in conjunction with biosensors integrated into the headrests, allowing it to automatically detect the driver’s mood and adjust the ambient lighting and music to enhance the driver’s experience.
While no technical specifications have been provided, it’s clear that this eccentric concept has no intention of entering production. The Hyper Punk concept will make its physical debut at the Japan Mobility Show on October 25 and will also be available in the popular game Fortnite. In the meantime, it is already on display on a 3D billboard in Tokyo’s Shinjuku district, alongside the previously unveiled Hyper Urban, Hyper Adventure, and Hyper Tourer concepts.
