Nintendo fans are eagerly anticipating the upcoming Nintendo Direct, scheduled to stream on June 21st at 10AM ET on Nintendo’s YouTube channel. The 40-minute showcase will primarily focus on Nintendo Switch titles set to be released throughout the remainder of 2023.
With Nintendo not planning to launch a successor to the Switch until next spring at the earliest, fans can expect an exciting lineup of games for the rest of the year. Nintendo has kept details of the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet expansion under wraps, only revealing that it will be released in two parts this fall and winter. The status of Metroid Prime 4, a long-awaited title, remains unknown, but fans hope for updates during the Direct. Additionally, fans have been eagerly awaiting news about a Detective Pikachu title for the Switch, which has been in development for several years.
According to the reputable leaker Pyoro, the Nintendo Direct may feature a glimpse of a new 2D Mario game and a remake of a SNES classic. Fans are also hopeful that Hollow Knight: Silksong, the highly anticipated sequel, will make an appearance.
