New Windows 11 update resolves the bug affecting the AMD GPU’s

A bug causing headaches for Windows 11 users with AMD graphics cards has been mostly fixed in the latest Microsoft OS update, according to reports.

This issue was introduced with the Moment 4 update, messing with AMD profile settings and resetting GPU (and sometimes CPU) settings to default upon PC restart.

The positive news is that the November update for Windows 11 seems to have addressed this problem, although not without some nuances.

Windows Latest reports that the bug has been largely squashed based on its testing and user feedback. However, a few users still noted profile resets.

To ensure the fix works, users need both the November update for Windows 11 and AMD’s Adrenalin graphics driver version 23.10.2. However, be aware that the November update itself comes with some problems.

Dealing with settings resetting and having to redo customizations after every PC restart is undoubtedly frustrating, especially for those who’ve done extensive tweaking on their AMD systems.

While it’s good news that the fix is here, the slight downside is that not everyone seems to be benefiting. Windows Latest doesn’t clarify if those still facing the bug after the latest Windows 11 update were using the specified version of AMD’s GPU driver (v23.10.2), but it’s likely.

The tech site suggests that persistent issues may be due to profile resets from causes other than Windows 11 updates.

Hopefully, Microsoft will quickly address any remaining wrinkles in the solution, although the software giant hasn’t officially confirmed the fix in the new update.
