A gameplay trailer for Evil West has been published, displaying much of what fans can anticipate from Flying Wild Hog’s vampire-slaying action-adventure. Since its announcement at The Game Awards in December, Focus Entertainment’s Evil West has wowed gamers, and a new trailer has added to the excitement for the upcoming high-octane adventure.
Following a delay earlier this year, Evil West passed gold last month and is now less than a month away from release. Some media outlets and content makers were given the opportunity to play a hands-on peek of Evil West, and the overall reaction appeared encouraging. The reception mirrored that of Flying Wild Hog’s last release, Trek to Yomi, which was praised for its creativity and visual design. Despite being significantly different, Evil West appears to be maintaining the developer’s embrace of spectacular spectacle.
The gameplay overview clip, which was uploaded by publisher Focus Entertainment, welcomes spectators to the vampire-infested Wild West, which is defined as a narrative-driven action-adventure by the voice-over, who then confirms the campaign may be played either single or cooperatively. Following a brief introduction to the tale and characters, players will take control of Jesse Rentier, a vampire hunter like his father before him. Jesse is a tough and well-trained monster slayer who is not known for following regulations. Jesse will be joined by Edgar, a previously retired vampire hunter who has been reintroduced into the battle, and their alliance appears to be developing as the plot develops.
The film then shifts from cinematics to gameplay, describing several sections of the Wild West for players to explore, ranging from “huge oil fields to contaminated mines.” Evil West is said to be “all about over-the-top” action with an emphasis on “style and efficiency,” with considerable customization choices for players. Jesse’s weaponry will allegedly evolve as the Rentier Institute expands, providing players with a rifle for locating opponent weak points as well as a sawed-off shotgun for more intimate engagements. The Rentier Gauntlet allows you to connect lightning-infused melee assaults with strong ranged attacks while “dodging, blocking, and parrying.”
The trailer closes by stating that each weapon and item has a skill tree to climb through, implying that players will have lots to explore with. A montage at the conclusion teases enormous adversaries, violent sequences, and nonstop action in Evil West, which is now available for pre-order. This unlocks the “Wild West East” skin pack, which includes an alternate appearance for Jesse as well as a unique weapon skin.
