Microsoft Edge will get new gaming features from Xbox

Microsoft Edge, everyone’s favorite gaming platform, is getting a variety of new features that highlight cloud gaming integration and customization for the blue browser, according to Xbox. Microsoft has constantly expanded and improved Xbox Cloud Gaming support across different platforms, and it is definitely taking steps to enhance this service on browsers by adding additional gaming-forward features.

 

 

Some of the new features include a customized gaming homepage for better access to the Xbox Cloud Gaming library and a built-in efficiency mode that decreases the browser’s resource usage when a game is opened. Edge will also receive “Clarity Boost” to help increase the realism of cloud-streamed games. Edge users can also expect a built-in menu with browser-based games such as Microsoft Solitaire and Atari Asteroids.

This announcement doesn’t sound particularly thrilling on its own, but it becomes more intriguing when you consider that Steam Deck users presently have to navigate through an instance of Microsoft Edge to get Xbox Game Pass. In principle, these modifications should boost cloud gaming performance, but they mostly feel like aesthetic tweaks to Microsoft’s browser.
