In the meantime, players can still enjoy Metal Gear Solid 3 as part of the Metal Gear Solid 2+3 HD Collection, which is accessible through Xbox’s backwards compatibility feature.
It’s important to note that Metal Gear Solid series creator Hideo Kojima has since departed from Konami, leaving the rights to the IP with the company. As a result, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, which was Kojima’s last involvement with the series, is likely to stand as the final Metal Gear game that preserves the original essence of the franchise.
