NBC Universal’s Peacock app is now available on Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest Pro virtual reality headsets, allowing users to watch popular shows such as The Office, live sports, and more in a VR environment. The companies are also offering a special deal for new Quest owners, with a free year of the streaming service. The partnership between NBC Universal and Meta will bring immersive experiences across a variety of NBCU IP, including Universal Monsters, Halloween Horror Nights, and The Office to environments like Horizon Worlds and Avatars Store.
The Peacock app allows for multitasking with multiple screens and resizing of the content window up to theater-sized. The deal is available for those who purchase a new Meta Quest 2 or Meta Quest Pro headset before April 11, 2024, and eligible account holders can redeem a promo code and link to receive the offer. However, Peacock Premium still includes full ads, and users must upgrade to Peacock Premium Plus for a plan with fewer ads.
Meta’s Horizon Worlds will also offer virtual content from The Office later this year.
