Mercedes Sets Sights on F1 2024 Title Challenge as Development Progresses

Team Remains Optimistic Despite Current Gap to Red Bull's Dominance

In response to Leclerc’s comments, Red Bull team principal Christian Horner expressed confidence that the gap between the teams would narrow over the next year. During the Dutch Grand Prix, Mercedes’ Shovlin indicated that the team’s primary focus is on challenging for the championship in 2024. He acknowledged that catching Red Bull during the remainder of the current season may be unlikely but expressed optimism about the coming year.

Shovlin explained, “We certainly don’t think like that because our ambition is to be challenging for a Championship next year, so we’re optimistic that we can do that.”
