As Apex Legends gears up for Season 19: Ignite, players are in for a treat with the introduction of a brand-new playable character, Conduit. The wait won’t be long, as the season is scheduled to launch on October 31. To give fans a sneak peek into the upcoming update, Respawn Entertainment has released an animated short featuring the battle royale’s latest Legend, Conduit.
Conduit’s origin story unfolds in the animated short, delving deeper into the game’s rich lore. She’s affectionately described as a “tiny titan of optimism,” and the thrilling part? Conduit has a direct connection to Respawn’s beloved Titanfall series. In the animated short, viewers witness her rescue by a Monarch Titan, which selflessly sacrificed itself during a perilous battle that threatened her life and homeland.
Years later, Conduit returns to the site where the Monarch Titan made its heroic sacrifice, retrieving the remains of its battery. This special battery grants her extraordinary abilities, enabling her to enter the high-stakes Apex Games and provide for her family.
“Inspired by the hero who once saved her life, Conduit exchanges her own future for the chance to become an Apex Legend and support her family,” reads the character’s description.
Conduit’s official character art reveals the visual impact of these newfound abilities on her body, with electric-blue veins running up her arm like lightning bolts.
Although official gameplay footage is still pending, details about how her abilities will function in the game, and whether they’ll draw inspiration from the Titanfall series, remain undisclosed. With just a week left before Season 19’s release, more information about Conduit is expected to emerge soon.
Notably, Respawn Entertainment recently addressed long-standing matchmaking server issues in Titanfall 2, leading to a resurgence of players returning to the game. Additionally, a recent Apex Legends update stirred speculation among fans about a potential Titanfall 3 teaser, as patch notes contained a series of numbers that correlated with the release dates of Titanfall, Titanfall 2, and Apex Legends.
However, it appears that the latest revelation of Conduit may be related to this teaser, suggesting that those eagerly awaiting a Titanfall 3 announcement will need to exercise patience.
