MediaTek Expands 5G and Futuristic Tech Presence in MEA Region

The company is actively strengthening partnerships with OEMs and telecom operators across MEA to accelerate digital adoption and stimulate growth across various industries. These initiatives took center stage at MediaTek’s flagship interactive technology discussion series, MediaTek Technology Diaries, held in Dubai.

During the forum, MediaTek showcased several recent collaborations in the MEA region, including Airtel 5G CPE powered by MediaTek T750, Xiaomi 13T Pro powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9200+, Xiaomi 13T powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8200-ULTRA, and HP Chromebook x360 powered by MediaTek Kompanio 1200. Other devices powered by MediaTek, such as Motorola Defy Satellite Link, TAG Pluto Tab, TAG-Tab 3, Jazz Digit 4G Smart Feature Phone, Amazon Echo, Yoco Khumo POS, and Yoco Neo Touch POS, were also featured.

The event featured insightful interactions through a Fireside Chat by MediaTek discussing the “Role of MediaTek in the global semiconductor landscape.” The event highlighted MediaTek’s prominence in various tech domains, including smartphones, smart devices, automotive, satellite communication, computing, and connectivity, and its extensive collaborations with OEM and telecom operators.

Smartphones: MediaTek Dimensity 5G smartphone platforms were showcased, emphasizing cutting-edge features, professional-grade imaging, multi-camera videography, gaming, and advanced AI capabilities.

Smart Devices: MediaTek’s leadership in digital TVs, smart speakers, Wi-Fi routers, arm-based Chromebooks, and other smart home products was highlighted.

5G Satellite NTN: This included IoT-NTN and NR-NTN technologies based on the 3GPP 5G specification, supporting messaging services and higher data rates in collaboration with MediaTek MT6825 and Bullitt Satellite Connect.

MediaTek Automotive Platform: MediaTek Dimensity Auto offers new automotive solutions with high-performance computing, AI, and extensive feature integration.

Networking & Connectivity: MediaTek Filogic Wi-Fi solutions, including Filogic 880 and Filogic 380, drive next-gen connectivity and Wi-Fi 7 experiences, and MediaTek T750 and T830 5G CPE chipsets enable fast 5G connectivity.

TSMC’s 3nm Process: MediaTek’s development of the first chip using TSMC’s 3nm process, set for volume production in 2024.
