Marvel Rivals Introduces Limited Time Gacha Event and Anniversary Rewards Ahead of First Year Milestone

Marvel Rivals is approaching its first anniversary, and NetEase has introduced a new limited time gacha system as part of the celebrations. After installing the latest game update, players will see a new feature titled Van Dyne’s: Grand Opening within the Rivals’ Day Times Square event screen. The feature provides access to an event exclusive hero bundle for Psylocke that is available between December 4 and December 18.

The bundle includes the Daring Daifuku Costume, emojis, a spray, an MVP animation and an event themed nameplate. To unlock the items, players must roll their Units by selecting balloons. Each balloon may reveal a different reward, and the objective is to find the balloon containing the Psylocke skin. NetEase stated that players who locate the skin on their first attempt will obtain the full bundle for 100 Units. Comparable bundles usually cost between 2,200 and 2,500 Units in the in game store, making the initial roll a low cost option.

If the first attempt does not reveal the skin, the price increases. The second attempt costs 300 Units, and each attempt afterward rises progressively. The total cost can reach up to 2,400 Units if the player is unlucky. All bundle items are awarded automatically once the balloon containing the main skin is selected.

Additional anniversary content begins on December 6 when the Rivals’ Day Times Square Countdown activates at midnight local time. Players will be able to view an in game fireworks display and can collect 200 Units and the Rivals’ Day 2025 epic title. These rewards will remain claimable for 72 hours after the countdown event ends.

Players can also review a year in review report that highlights game statistics and participation milestones. NetEase has confirmed further changes to the Marvel Zombies mode as well. The PvE mode had already been extended by three weeks and was scheduled to conclude soon, but the company has pushed the end date back to January 16, 2026. The extension allows continued access to the mode during the holiday period.
