Linkplay Unveils Affordable High-End Audio Solution with Enhanced Music Streaming Box

Linkplay Technology has unveiled an upgraded version of its WiiM Pro Music Streamer, called the WiiM Pro Plus, designed to provide high-quality music streaming for audiophiles. The new version promises enhanced high-resolution audio quality when using its line output or line input ports.

The original WiiM Pro was already known for its affordability and quality, making it an appealing option for those looking to add streaming capabilities to their existing high-fidelity audio systems. This upgraded version aims to take the audio quality to the next level with improved components.

The WiiM Pro Plus features an AKM 4493SEQ DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter) and a TI Burr-Brown Audio PCM1861 ADC (Analog-to-Digital Converter). The DAC supports high-resolution audio up to 768 kHz PCM and DSD512, promising audiophile-grade music quality. Additionally, the device incorporates an ultra-low noise clock, power, and circuit design to further enhance the audio experience.

Connectivity options are extensive, including RCA, TOSLINK, and co-axial connections for interfacing with existing equipment. It supports both Wi-Fi and Ethernet for network connectivity and offers compatibility with various streaming services, including AirPlay 2, Alexa Casting, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz, Amazon Music, Tidal, Deezer, TuneIn, and iHeartRadio. The device also offers Chromecast support, and future updates will introduce Roon Ready and a parametric EQ.

The WiiM Pro Plus can be controlled using voice assistants like Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri for music selection, volume adjustments, and playback control. Priced at $219 / £219, the WiiM Pro Plus is expected to be available later this month. It offers an attractive option for individuals looking to upgrade their existing high-fidelity audio setups with modern streaming capabilities.
