LG Electronics (LG), a global leader and technology innovator, entered the next big league of smartphone with the launch of their most powerful device – LG G2 – at a grand event in Dubai, UAE. This is the first revolutionary smartphone introduced under LG’s new “G” series for premium devices, exemplifying LG’s aim to bring forth more customer-centric innovations. Based on LG’s research of consumer lifestyle and behaviors, the smartphone offers users more real-life benefits such as ergonomic design, practical functions and an intuitive user experience.
“Our definition of innovation today is technology that truly resonates with consumers,” said Mr. D.Y. Kim, President of LG Electronics, Gulf FZE, who welcomed guests to the event. “We have always listened and learned from consumers in pursuit of innovation. We took this research to new heights in developing LG G2, the most exciting and ambitious phone in our company’s history.”
“The new LG G2 represents the level of innovation that we constantly strive to deliver to our customers, hand in hand with the very best value,” said Fahad Al Hassawi, Chief Commercial Officer, du. “Customers can enjoy the latest LG smartphone to its full capacity with our incredible Smartphone offers exclusively for our customers, which include a variety of purchase options and data packages, powered by our award-winning network. We are proud of this partnership with LG, and look forward to further collaborations in the future.”
The all-new G2 runs on the industry’s most advanced mobile chipset, Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 800 Processor that redefines the smartphone experience through high performance, rich graphics and outstanding battery efficiency. The LG G2 is the first smartphone on the market today to feature 24 bit/192kHz Hi-Fi playback that reproduces studio-like quality sound, far superior to a CD. Now consumers can hear a level of realism in sounds that hasn’t been possible before in a smartphone.
What makes LG G2 the most revolutionary smartphone till date is the innovative features incorporated within the device. Eliminating the need for multiple navigation buttons, the LG G2 is equipped with single refined rear key that serves as the command centre for power and volume functions. Long-pressing on the rear-mounted volume keys allows users to launch QuickMemoTM, and the camera, making note taking and photo capturing even easier than before. Equipped with a 13MP Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS), the LG G2 is able to capture clear images even when in motion or in dim lighting.
With the “Knock On” feature, users can bring the LG G2 to life or set it to sleep mode by simply tapping the screen with their fingertip.
LG upped the ante by incorporating a 5.2-inch Full HD display in the LG G2, the largest display designed for one-handed operation in today’s popular 2.7-inch width smartphone category. The G2 bezel has been reduced to a mere 2.65mm on the side edge and with proven IPS technology, the LG G2 offers superior graphics, accurate colors and clear images without any distortion.
LG G2 customers benefit from other convenient user experience (UX) features that provide the most practical value such as Answer ME, Plug & Pop, Quick Remote and Guest Mode.
LG sold a record breaking 12.1 million smartphones globally in the second quarter of 2013, accounting for about 20 percent of the company’s revenue in that period and with the launch of their flagship smartphone, the corporation hopes to build on the extraordinary results. LG Gulf is confident of entering into the double digit market share by the end of this year with the launch of the LG G2.
