LG Display's 39-inch 5K2K Gaming OLED panel

LG Display Unveils High Refresh Rate OLED Gaming Monitor Lineup for CES 2026

LG Display has announced its latest lineup of gaming OLED panels ahead of CES 2026. The new products focus on increasing refresh rates, improving resolution, and addressing common subpixel layout issues that affect text legibility.

The flagship of the announcement is a 27 inch Gaming OLED panel capable of a 720Hz refresh rate. This is currently the highest refresh rate available for an OLED gaming display. It features a response time of 0.02ms, which the company claims is significantly faster than standard LCD panels. This combination is intended to remove motion blur and afterimages during fast gameplay.

LG Display is also introducing a 39 inch 5K2K curved OLED panel. This 21:9 aspect ratio display features a 1500R curvature and a resolution of 5120 x 2160. It utilizes Tandem OLED technology to increase peak brightness to 1,500 nits and offers 99.5% DCI-P3 color reproduction. A Dual Mode feature allows users to switch between the native 5K2K resolution at 165Hz and a lower resolution at 330Hz for competitive gaming.

For users concerned with text clarity, LG Display has developed a 27 inch 4K OLED panel with an RGB stripe subpixel structure. Most current OLED monitors use RGWB or triangular pixel layouts, which can cause color fringing or blurry text in productivity tasks. The RGB stripe layout aligns red, green, and blue subpixels in a straight line to match how operating systems render fonts. This panel supports a 240Hz refresh rate and includes Dynamic Frequency and Resolution (DFR) technology, allowing a switch to 1080p at 480Hz.

The company is also showcasing a 52 inch 5K2K monitor under its new UltraGear evo brand. This large format display uses a 12:9 aspect ratio and a 1000R curvature. It provides a vertical height similar to a 42 inch 16:9 screen but offers a wider horizontal field of view.

All 2026 gaming panels will incorporate Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 technology. This hardware update is designed to improve panel longevity and maintain high brightness levels while reducing the risk of burn-in. LG Display will demonstrate these panels at CES 2026 from January 6 to 9 in Las Vegas.
