Hamilton revealed that leading up to the F1 2023 Dutch Grand Prix, he was three kilograms (about 6.6 pounds) above the upper limit of his target weight range. In Formula 1, where every ounce of weight can impact performance, maintaining an optimal weight is crucial for drivers. Hamilton’s racing weight typically hovers around 73 to 74 kilograms (approximately 161 to 163 pounds).
Reflecting on his situation, Hamilton commented, “I ate so much food. On Saturday… my weight has to be around 73, 74 kilos, and I was almost 77 kilos on Saturday. So I had to go on an extreme diet these past days.”
