Hamilton, whose association with Mercedes-engined cars spans his entire Formula One career of 323 appearances, reflects on his history at Monza and the varying receptions he’s received from the fervent Tifosi. Recounting past experiences, he notes, “It’s shifted a lot. I can’t remember if it was here or somewhere else I got black cats thrown at me, but I remember there was a period of time when we couldn’t wear the team shirt into the circuit.”
Despite initial episodes of hostility, Hamilton now relishes a warm reception from Italian fans. “I’ve just had such a warm welcome from the Italian fans,” he says, revealing his affinity for the place since his early racing days. Fond memories of racing in Parma, Jesolo, and South Garda, coupled with his love for authentic Italian cuisine, have cemented his bond with the nation.
