Excitement is building as the Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Pro are set to make their full debut on October 4 during a highly-anticipated launch event. In the meantime, a set of unofficial unboxing photos has surfaced, giving enthusiasts a glimpse of what’s to come.
These images initially surfaced on Facebook but were subsequently removed. However, eagle-eyed observers, including 9to5Google, managed to capture and share them. While the accompanying information is limited, it’s evident that these photos were taken within a manufacturing facility.
The unboxing photos appear to feature the Pixel 8 Pro, which comes in two color options: white (reportedly referred to as Porcelain) and black (rumored to be named Licorice). Notably, these images align with the official pictures that have already been revealed.
The Pixel 8 isn’t left out, as unofficial images of the packaging for the more budget-friendly model were posted on Twitter. The box specifies the color as Hazel, which seems to have a grayish appearance.
Based on these images, the packaging for the Pixel phones appears quite similar to that of the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. As seen last year, the box includes a charging cable, but there is no charging plug.
Additionally, the photos provide a glimpse of a matte glass finish on the back of the Pixel 8 Pro, confirming a design change previously hinted at in leaks. Overall, the design retains the recognizable Pixel aesthetics, complete with the distinctive raised camera bump on the rear.
Google has officially announced the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel Watch 2; however, specific details about these devices have been kept under wraps. Fans are eagerly awaiting the event this coming Wednesday, where Google is expected to unveil comprehensive information about these highly anticipated gadgets.
Pricing remains one of the few unknowns at this point, with earlier rumors suggesting that the new Pixel models may come at a higher cost compared to their predecessors launched last year. More details will undoubtedly emerge during the official presentation on October 4.
