John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando: Co-op Apocalypse Coming to PS5, PC and Xbox

Renowned filmmaker John Carpenter, known for his iconic horror films such as Halloween and The Thing, is expanding his creative endeavors into the realm of gaming. During the Summer Games Fest, Focus Home Entertainment and Saber Interactive unveiled their collaboration with Carpenter on a new video game titled “John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando.” Set to be released on Xbox X|S, the Epic Games Store, and PlayStation 5 in 2024, the game promises to deliver Carpenter’s distinct zompocalyptic vision to gamers worldwide.

The trailer, which premiered during the event, offers a glimpse into the game’s premise. Players will find themselves in a world overrun by zombies, requiring them to employ their shooting skills to eliminate the undead threats. The storyline revolves around a failed experiment that aimed to harness energy from the Earth’s core but instead unleashed a horde of ambulatory zombies known as the Sludge God. Gamers will take on the role of a commando tasked with vanquishing this formidable enemy and their relentless army of undead creatures. Armed with an arsenal of melee, edged, and ranged weapons, players will utilize special abilities to combat the hordes of enemies.
