Jaguar is set to unveil a radical new EV concept this December, marking the beginning of its all-electric transformation. This concept car will serve as a preview for Jaguar’s new era, with the first model expected to be a £100k four-door GT boasting over 435 miles of range, ultra-rapid charging, and a powerful dual-motor setup with more than 575bhp.
Jaguar’s upcoming models will completely depart from the brand’s existing lineup, which will be phased out by the end of the year. The new models will feature a distinctive design language aimed at challenging conventional EV aesthetics, moving away from the aerodynamic homogeneity seen in many current electric vehicles.
The first model, a GT, will be followed by a Bentley Bentayga-rivaling SUV and a luxury limousine, both expected to hit dealerships by 2028. Despite the industry-wide slowdown in EV demand, Jaguar remains committed to its electric vision, with a focus on long-range capabilities and rapid charging to address consumer concerns.
In a bold move, Jaguar will stop selling new cars in certain European markets by the end of this year, with the UK following in early 2025. This hiatus will last around a year, during which Jaguar will focus on used car sales and aftersales services. UK deliveries of the new electric GT are expected to begin in 2026.
Jaguar’s managing director, Rawdon Glover, emphasized that the brand’s repositioning and new design philosophy will help distinguish its EVs in a crowded market. Although Jaguar’s parent company, JLR, has adjusted its overall EV strategy in response to market conditions, Jaguar itself is focused on delivering high-value, low-volume luxury electric vehicles.
