Infiniti to Unveil Vision Qe Concept, Offering a Glimpse into the Automaker’s Electric Future

Infiniti's First All-Electric Model, the Vision Qe, Set to Debut Alongside a Range of New Models as Part of the Nissan Ambition 2030 Strategy.

Infiniti is poised to offer an exciting glimpse into its electric future with the much-anticipated debut of the Vision Qe concept on October 24. This all-electric concept will not only showcase the brand’s forthcoming EV design language but also take its place alongside the unveiling of “several stunning new models.”

Although the teaser provides only a silhouette of the Vision Qe concept, it offers a tantalizing preview of what awaits later this month. The concept boasts the elegant proportions of a four-door coupe, highlighted by its gracefully extended roofline, evoking a sense of sophistication reminiscent of the Hyundai Ioniq 6. The seamless integration of the roof and rear glass into the rear fascia reflects a commitment to aerodynamic excellence. The vehicle proudly dons the refreshed Infiniti word mark, which was a prominent feature of the company’s comprehensive brand identity overhaul introduced in June.

The introduction of these new products aligns with Infiniti’s ongoing initiative to revamp its image, incorporating a new three-dimensional logo, an enhanced retail experience, and a distinctive brand scent. While the automaker faced a decline in sales exceeding 20 percent by the end of 2022, there has been a notable resurgence with a nearly 48 percent increase in sales during the first nine months of this year.

The forthcoming all-electric Vision Qe concept and the broader product lineup are integral components of the Nissan Ambition 2030 Strategy. This strategic plan was initially revealed in 2021 and was subsequently updated early in 2023 to encompass more ambitious targets. The strategy sets forth a vision of introducing no less than 19 new electric vehicles and 27 fresh electrified models within the Infiniti lineup by 2030.

Foreseeing a significant shift towards electrification, Infiniti anticipates that electrified vehicles will constitute a substantial 98 percent of its European sales by 2026. Meanwhile, Nissan is striving to achieve a remarkable milestone of 40 percent of its total sales coming from electrified vehicles in the United States by the close of this decade.

Infiniti’s EV offerings are expected to be underpinned by one of the five platforms that will serve as the foundation for 90 percent of the 35 electric vehicles set to emerge from the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance in the years ahead. This conglomerate unveiled its ambitious electric vehicle plan early in 2022, featuring a joint investment of $25 billion and an aggressive objective to reduce battery prices by 65 percent by 2028, with an interim goal of halving prices by 2026.
