Gearheads, prepare for your minds to be blown! The Indy Autonomous Challenge (IAC) just unveiled an insane next-gen autonomous racecar platform called the AV-24 at CES. We’re talking unreal AI driver performance at ridiculous speeds over 190mph thanks to major hardware and software upgrades.
By partnering with the masters of autonomous tech, IAC engineers pumped up the AV-24 with sick features like 360-degree Luminar LiDAR for flawless vision, Continental radar to spot objects at high speed, and two-way racing communication tech from Marelli. This robot racer is optimzed for blazing AI algorithms.
The car also has an awesome dSPACE simulation for AI drivers to practice and refine their skills before hitting the actual track. Think of it like a super realistic video game version to get the algorithms race ready.
According to IAC President Paul Mitchell, the goal is to let AI capabilities loose to smash boundaries that no human or machine have ever attempted before. We’re talking podcasts at 1.5x speed levels of intense!
And it gets even better – IAC is teaming up with dSPACE to launch an official AI simulation racing league. New teams can test out algorithms in virtual races before needing access to the pricey real AV-24 cars.
The IAC isn’t playing around. They want to make Indiana the Silicon Valley of high-speed automation and attract major talent. Between the souped up multi-sensory AV-24 and the immersive sim racing league, they’re making all the right moves.
