Few video games have had the same impact and significance as The Legend of Zelda. The original Zelda has had a tremendous influence on players and developers all across the globe since its introduction to the Nintendo Entertainment System. The same may be said with Doom. When the first-person shooter first appeared, it, too, altered the landscape of the video game business. It may seem strange to combine these two games, but that is precise what developer @DeTwelveGames accomplished with his “The Legend of Doom” mod! The mod was released in 2021, however, @DeTwelveGames stated a few weeks ago that they would search for new ways to enhance the game before moving on to their next project.
I cannot believe it took me this long to find out someone recreated The Legend of Zelda in the Doom engine! I’m gonna play the whole dang thing. pic.twitter.com/bRKHzTKsrC

It’s incredible to watch this mod in action! The enemy designs and graphics from the original Zelda game work far better in this setting than anybody imagined, and @DeTwelveGames has carefully recreated them. Players who look attentively will note that the DoomSlayer has been given a cap similar to the one Link wears. This version pays close attention to detail, which elevates it beyond many other Doom modifications that have been uploaded online. For long-time Zelda fans, this is a fantastic effort that is definitely worth investigating!
This unauthorised crossover will have to do for fans since an official Zelda-Doom crossover is unlikely to come anytime soon! The closest we’ve gotten to seeing DoomSlayer and Link in the same game is a Mii Fighter outfit that can be purchased in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Given Doom’s long-standing popularity, many speculated that DoomSlayer might be included in the fighting game, but it seems that this was not to be!
