In iOS 16, Apple has finally added the option to view your saved Wi-Fi password. According to reports, the iOS 16 developer version offers the ability to examine and even copy a Wi-Fi password to share with friends or family. To see a stored password, you must first authenticate with a Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode, and then you can copy it.
If you possess an iPhone, you’re familiar with the difficulty of sharing Wi-Fi credentials when a family member or friend arrives who is a green bubble lover (Android user) or owns a Windows laptop. Even if your phone is connected to the network, you must still look for the Wi-Fi password at the back of the router or on that old crusty piece of paper where you shouldn’t be saving passwords in the first place. Once iOS 16 is released, this old battle will be over.
Wi-Fi password sharing has long been seamless and simple on iOS, provided the individual attempting to connect to your network also has an iPhone, iPad, or Mac. This modification will be available to everyone as soon as iOS 16 is published.
Apple is already testing iOS 16 with developers, and a public beta will be available in July. Along with significant enhancements to the lock screen and communications, iOS 16 offers a strong Live Text feature, shared iCloud photo libraries, and much more.
