Huawei has added a new green colourway to the WATCH Ultimate 2 in the United Arab Emirates, giving its dive-focused flagship smartwatch a fresh look without altering the hardware underneath. Huawei Consumer Business Group said the green model is on sale now in the UAE at AED 3,299, joining the existing colour options in the line-up.
The release is a mid-cycle refresh rather than a new device. The WATCH Ultimate 2, which Huawei bills as its most advanced exploration-ready smartwatch, first went on sale globally in late 2025 as a successor to the 2023 Watch Ultimate. The green edition keeps the same specifications and simply widens the choice of finishes.
The watch’s defining feature is underwater communication. Huawei says the Ultimate 2 is the first smartwatch with miniaturised, sonar-based messaging, built around a mini sonar unit and piezoelectric ceramic plates that let divers send messages without any additional, tank-mounted equipment. Because radio signals struggle to pass through water, conventional wireless methods cannot do this; sonar, which relies on sound, can.
According to Huawei, divers can exchange real-time messages within a 30-metre range and add up to 50 “dive buddies,” choosing from more than 50 preset messages and emoticons. In an emergency, holding the Function Button for three seconds triggers an SOS signal that repeats every 25 seconds; nearby devices can pick up and relay the alert, extending its reach to about 60 metres. The company says the design is intended to improve the chances of a fast rescue.
To protect the slim ceramic components, Huawei said it reinforced the structure with a 0.25mm steel plate and a burst-proof membrane. The Ultimate 2 carries a 20ATM rating certified to EN13319 and ISO 22810:2010 — rated for dives to 150 metres, 50 metres deeper than the original — and uses a zirconium-based liquid-metal case. Its 1.5-inch AMOLED display reaches up to 3,500 nits, and the watch’s quoted battery life runs to several days in normal use, stretching to around 11 days in a power-saving mode.
Beyond diving, Huawei positions the watch for everyday wear, pointing to health monitoring, sports tracking and a hard-wearing build. New colours are a common way for device makers to keep interest alive between hardware generations, and Huawei still commands a sizeable wearables following in the Middle East even as US trade restrictions have complicated other parts of its business.
At AED 3,299, the green WATCH Ultimate 2 sits firmly at the premium end of the smartwatch market. What buyers get for that price is unchanged from the existing versions — only the colour is new. Huawei said the watch is available through its official retail and online channels in the UAE.
