HP Omen 16 laptop

HP has just announced a slimmer and lighter version of the Omen 16 Gaming Laptop

HP is one of those companies who are currently chugging along. I have been an Omen laptop user myself and let me just say, the experience has been an absolute roller coaster. Merely 4 months into the purchase, I started seeing a light flickering in the display, and now, almost 3 years into the purchase, the display is a disaster. There have been multiple reports about build issues and quality not being up to the mark, but, despite all of this, the company chugs along, releasing device after device.

Now, it looks like we have a new entry into the Omen lineup, specifically, the Omen 16 lineup, as HP has unveiled, what they are claiming, is a lighter, and slimmer version of the Omen 16 Gaming laptop. Funny enough, as per the reports, the new Omen 16 slim is 16% slimmer than the regulation model, and as far as the specifications are concerned, the highest spec model of the Omen 16 Slim will feature the NVIDIA RTX 5070 graphics, and will be powered by the Intel Arrow Lake processors.

Coming to the design, as the name suggests, the Omen 16 Slim will come with a 16-inch display, with up to 2,560 x 1,600 resolution. The model will also come with a 10Gbps USB-C port, along with a 10Gbps Type-A, two 5Gbps Type-A ports, an RJ-45 ethernet connector, a 3.5mm headphone / mic combo jack and a single HDMI 2.1 port.

As far as the official release date is concerned, HP has not revealed that as yet. However, if we were to take a guess, we should see the model hit the market sometime in May.
