How to activate text to speech on Android

The Android Operating system comes with a host of accessibility features that make it usable for users of all kinds. This means people with disabilities can also use Android smartphones thanks to the friendly features it offers. One of the most exciting features is the ‘Text to Speech’ output. Through this, the OS reads out text that is on the screen, which makes it easy for people with visual impairments to understand the content on their smartphones. This feature is also great in situations when you do not have time to glance at your Android smartphone and would love the content to be read out to you instead.

In this tutorial, we will show you how to activate the text to speech on Android.

Tap to open the ‘Settings’ app on your Android smartphone.

Scroll down the settings menu and tap on the ‘Additional Settings’ option.

In the additional settings, tap on the ‘Accessibility’ option.

Now, scroll down the Accessibility menu and tap on the ‘Text to Speech Output’ option.

You can now adjust the text to speech settings as per your requirements.

You will now get an audio output corresponding to the text present on your screen. Once you make the text to speech adjustments, you can tap on the ‘Play’ button to get a demo of the audio feedback you will receive when the text to speech feature is in play.
