Hotline Miami Games Hinted for PS5: Trophy Lists Leak Excites Fans

Exciting news for PlayStation fans as trophy lists for the beloved PS3 indie games, Hotline Miami and Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, have surfaced online, hinting at potential PS5 releases. These two titles are revered classics among indie gaming enthusiasts, and the prospect of having them on the PS5 with native enhancements is generating significant excitement.

Since its launch in November 2020, the PS5 has seen a continuous stream of remasters and ports. Additionally, the PS Plus subscription service regularly offers classic titles, spanning from the original PlayStation to PS3. The PlayStation Store also provides access to select PS1, PS2, and PSP titles from Sony and third-party publishers. If the leaked trophy lists hold true, it appears that PlayStation fans may soon enjoy Hotline Miami and Hotline Miami 2 in native PS5 versions.

The leak, originating from the trophy and achievement tracking website Exophase, suggests that both Hotline Miami games are headed to the PS5. What’s particularly intriguing is that these trophy lists list the PS5 versions separately from the existing PlayStation versions of the games. This divergence could be due to the absence of the cross-buy feature, which was available for Hotline Miami and Hotline Miami 2 on PS3, PS Vita, and PS4. However, it’s worth noting that the publisher of the Hotline Miami series, Devolver Digital, has yet to make an official announcement regarding the PS5 releases.

Hotline Miami originally launched for PC in 2012 and made its way to the PS3 and PS Vita in June 2013. Later, in August 2014, it arrived on the PS4. The highly anticipated sequel, Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, followed in 2015, releasing across all three PlayStation platforms. Both games also found their way to the Nintendo Switch and Xbox platforms as the Hotline Miami Collection in 2019 and 2020, respectively.

The potential PS5 releases of Hotline Miami and Hotline Miami 2 hold promise for PlayStation fans, given the PS5’s 4K capabilities and support for higher frame rates. While no official announcement has been made regarding a new Hotline Miami game, the appearance of these trophy lists suggests that Devolver Digital might be gearing up for an exciting reveal. Fans of the series have reason to be optimistic about the future of Hotline Miami.
