Horizon, Resident Evil Village, and other titles will be available on PlayStation VR2

Capcom is releasing a patch for Resident Evil Village that allows the PSVR2 headset to support VR. Similar to Resident Evil 7, Sony’s headset gets exclusive access to Capcom’s first-person horror adventure’s VR experience. Capcom did not provide a specific release date for the VR content, although it appears to be soon. We watched the main character Ethan flick weapons between his hands like a gunslinger, which is all we want to do when we play a first-person VR game.

Capcom kicked off this State of Play presentation with the first look at the Resident Evil 4 remake. While the primary game appears to be a third-person adventure (similar to the original), Sony has stated that PSVR2 content is in the works. What is unclear is whether this would transform the game into a first-person shooter, similar to the VR adaption that debuted on the Meta Quest 2 in 2021. If that’s the case, it’ll probably be a much higher-resolution and immersive experience.
