Honor, a phone brand, has introduced its next-generation flagship device, the Magic V2, which aims to set a new standard for foldable smartphones. The Magic V2 is impressively thin, measuring only 9.9mm when folded and weighing 231g, making it one of the lightest foldables on the market. The device features a proprietary steel construction that is thinner and stronger than its predecessor, and it incorporates a super-light titanium hinge for optimal weight and strength balance.
In terms of battery, the Magic V2 is equipped with two silicon-carbon batteries, each with a thickness of just 2.72mm, providing a total capacity of 5,000mAh. The device supports Honor’s 66W SuperCharge technology, enabling fast charging.
The Magic V2 boasts impressive hardware, including OLED screens with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The inner screen measures 7.92 inches with a resolution of 2344 x 2156 pixels, while the outer screen is 6.43 inches with a resolution of 2376 x 1060 pixels. Both screens incorporate eye protection technologies such as dynamic dimming and Circadian Night Display to reduce eye fatigue and promote better sleep.
In terms of photography, the Magic V2 features a three-camera system with a 50MP main lens, 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 20MP telephoto option. There are also dual 16MP selfie cameras. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, the same one found in the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
Currently, the Magic V2 is available only in China for 8,999 Yuan. However, there are indications that it may be released globally in the future, as Honor has expanded its reach to various regions. If it launches in Europe, the estimated price would be around €1,130 Euros or approximately £970 in the UK. The device is expected to be relatively expensive, but pricing may change over time.
