Hitman Developers Struggle to Rectify In-Game Death Wall Issue

IO Interactive has released a new patch for Hitman: The World of Assassination that addresses various bugs and issues, including a notorious bug referred to as the “Death Wall” bug. This bug occurs on Hitman 2’s Isle of Sgàil level, specifically in the morgue area, where characters would instantly die upon coming into contact with a certain wall.

IO Interactive attempted to fix the issue by adding extra collision along the wall, but this solution didn’t work as intended. NPCs were still able to step just outside of the designated area and succumb to the “Death Wall.” To mitigate the problem, IO Interactive has stacked boxes and objects against the wall to prevent NPCs from walking near it, effectively keeping them away from the problematic area.

While this solution may not completely eliminate the issue, it serves as a temporary measure to prevent characters from meeting instant death. The developers humorously referred to the bug as “DEATH WALL™” and acknowledged that despite their efforts, the issue might still persist to some extent.

The patch also prepares the game for the physical release of the PS5 version on August 25 and includes updates for the return of the Sarajevo Six campaign and Trinity Pack, both of which are scheduled to go live on August 17 as premium content.
