GoPro did have a general use video editor app in the past, but the company decided to discontinue it, and adopt a more exclusive stance, which is why this Quik app will only be usable by GoPro subscribers. This will also seemingly attract more users to buy into one of GoPro’s subscription services, which will inturn, boost their user base.
The company has also announced that they will be launching a host of new cameras and accessories in the next two years, as well as integrate a level of AI into their tools, to make them beginner friendly. The launches will be catered across the pricing spectrum, with one aggressively priced entry point device, and a few high end offerings for the more pro users. All we can hope for is to see at-least one of these cameras hitting the market early next year.
