Needs of the Business

Meaning – The term needs of the business, refers to an undefined reason for not agreeing to something. There are many decisions that are being taken within an organization, at any given point in time. Sometimes, the manager may be open to suggestions from employees, while there are situations where he/she just doesn’t want to agree with any feedback. In such cases, when an employee comes to the manager with some genuine concern or review, they dismiss it by saying that the decision being taken is the need of the business. This is usually considered as an excuse to get out of a situation wherein the manager may actually be wrong about the decision but does not wish to change it.

Example of usage“When he approached his manager about the new project direction, he was quickly dismissed by the manager who said that the new direction of the project was the need of the business.”
