Nintendo has revealed that the last downloadable content (DLC) for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will introduce fresh maps, characters, and features.
The upcoming Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC will be available for download on November 9, 2023, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. This additional content can be accessed with a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription or purchased separately for $24.99/£22.49. Similar to previous expansions, this DLC will introduce eight new maps to the beloved racing game.
These eight maps are evenly divided between the Acorn Cup and the Spiny Cup, with four maps in each cup. The DLC will bring iconic tracks such as Mario Kart Wii’s Rainbow Road and Daisy Circuit into the game. It will also include Madrid Drive, Piranha Plant Cove, and Rome Avanti from Mario Kart Tour, along with DK Mountain from Double Dash. Additionally, players can look forward to racing on Rosalina’s Ice World from the 3DS and Bowser’s Castle 3 from the SNES.
This DLC marks the culmination of an impressive program of additional content. When Mario Kart 8 was originally released, it featured a track list of 48 maps. However, after five previous DLC expansions, this number has now doubled to a grand total of 96 tracks.
Furthermore, this upcoming DLC will introduce four new playable characters to diversify the roster. Fans will be delighted to see the iconic cast of drivers expand with the inclusion of Diddy Kong, Pauline, Peachette, and Funky Kong.
Players can also expect new racing outfits for the MII characters and an exciting Music Player feature, which enables them to listen to music from every course during a pit stop. Additionally, a new Daisy racing suit will be unlockable using a Daisy Amiibo.
This final DLC pack is set to bring a wave of excitement to the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe community, concluding a remarkable journey of content additions to the popular game.
