FEVM Launches FA65G Mini PC with Ryzen 9800X3D and RTX 5000 Ada MXM GPU

Chinese hardware manufacturer FEVM has introduced the FA65G mini PC, targeting professionals and enthusiasts seeking maximum computing performance within a minimal footprint. The FA65G is designed with a 2.5-liter chassis that closely resembles Apple’s Mac Studio in both size and port arrangement. It measures 167.5 x 167.5 x 96 millimeters and weighs 1.85 kilograms.

The system features a custom B650-based mini-ITX motherboard with an AM5 socket, supporting AMD’s latest Ryzen 9000X3D series processors. The primary configuration uses a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, which can be set to operate between 65 and 100 watts. Under heavy workloads, the CPU temperature can reach up to 95 degrees Celsius; this is within AMD’s operational tolerances but approaches the upper thermal limits. FEVM also advertises compatibility with higher-end CPUs such as the Ryzen 9 9900X3D and 9950X3D, though similar thermal considerations remain.

One of the defining features of the FA65G is its support for discrete MXM graphics cards, a rarity in mini PCs. The company offers models equipped with the NVIDIA RTX 4080 LP and RTX 5000 Ada MXM GPUs. The supplied custom cooling solution consists of four heat pipes and dual fans, and a 330-watt external power adapter is included to meet the demands of high-performance hardware. Thermal testing indicates that the RTX 4080 LP graphics card functions at performance levels close to a desktop RTX 3080 or RTX 4070, slightly exceeding the performance of an RTX 5060 Ti. The GPU temperature peaks at 74.3 degrees Celsius under stress.

In practical gaming and creative workloads, FEVM reports that CPU temperatures average around 80 degrees Celsius while the GPU remains below 70 degrees Celsius. System noise ranges from 41 to 47.3 decibels based on the load. Storage expandability is provided through two M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 slots, and memory support extends to 128GB of DDR5-6400 via two SO-DIMM slots. The device also features easily accessible Wi-Fi module expansion.

Port selection is extensive and reminiscent of Apple’s Mac Studio, including USB4, USB-A 3.2 Gen, dual HDMI 2.1, dual DisplayPort, two 2.5GbE network interfaces, and additional USB-C and USB 2.0 connections.

No official price or release date has been announced. Due to the rarity of MXM GPUs and the high-performance components used, a configuration featuring the Ryzen 9800X3D and RTX 4080 LP is expected to retail for more than $2,000.
