Enhanced Sleep Tracking: Garmin’s Rumored Coach Feature Set to Supercharge Your Sleep Monitoring

Garmin is rumored to be working on a new software tool called ‘Sleep Coaching’ that will significantly enhance its sleep tracking capabilities. This feature is expected to offer tailored feedback on sleep quality based on an individual’s baseline, which will be established using past sleep data. It will focus on heart rate variability (HRV) insights to provide recommendations for improving overall health and wellness, particularly in managing stress levels.

Additionally, Sleep Coaching will integrate workout and exercise data to provide comprehensive sleep recommendations and promote better sleep habits. This feature is expected to appear in Garmin’s Morning Report, a summary of a user’s health and activity metrics.

The software tool will also support nap tracking and daytime sleep tracking for those with irregular sleep schedules. This will help update the body battery data based on daytime rest periods. The sleep coach is likely to emphasize the importance of maintaining a consistent sleep pattern whenever possible, as this has been scientifically shown to contribute to better sleep quality.

While it’s not confirmed whether the sleep coach will be powered by AI, it is expected to offer a more in-depth analysis of sleep data and integrate seamlessly with a user’s daily activities and workouts. Although the leak does not mention which Garmin devices will receive this feature, it is likely to be included in the upcoming Garmin Venu 3 watch, expected to be released next month. There’s also hope that this feature will be retroactively applied to compatible Garmin watches.
