Elevate Your Sony TV Experience: Anticipate Enhanced Energy Efficiency and Gaming with Upcoming Free Update

Sony is rolling out a firmware update for its 2022, 2021, and 2020 TV models, which will bring several new features to improve energy efficiency and gaming experience. This update includes:

  1. Eco Dashboard: This feature aims to make it easier for users to understand and adjust their TV’s energy consumption settings. The Eco Dashboard consolidates settings that affect energy usage in one place, allowing users to see the impact of each setting on energy consumption. It’s intended to promote more conscious energy usage and reduce the TV’s environmental impact. For example, it can automatically dim the display when it detects that you’re not actively watching, potentially reducing energy consumption by up to 32%.
  2. Game Menu Upgrade: The update will provide 2022 Sony TV models access to a limited version of the Game Menu that’s available in the 2023 models. This menu includes features like Motion Blur Reduction and a customizable virtual crosshair, enhancing the gaming experience for users. The Game Menu can be accessed by pressing the ‘123’ button on the remote control.

The firmware update is currently being rolled out to select Sony TV models in the US, Europe, and other regions. The update is compatible with TV models that feature the MediaTek MT5895 processor. Users can either wait for the automatic update to reach their TV or download the firmware upgrade manually from Sony’s website.
