Amazon Music Unlimited’s Prime Subscription Sees Price Increase, Yet Remains More Affordable Than Spotify

Amazon Music Unlimited has increased its pricing for Prime subscribers, from $8.99 / £8.99 to $9.99 / £9.99 per month. The family plan pricing has also gone up from $15.99 / £15.99 to $16.99 / £16.99 per month. However, even with this price hike, Amazon Music Unlimited remains slightly cheaper than Spotify’s recent pricing increase, as long as you’re a Prime member.

The new pricing has already started for new customers signing up for the service. Existing customers will see the updated pricing go into effect on or after September 19, 2023, or on the date of their next monthly renewal.

While the competition among music streaming services has led to various price increases over the past year, Amazon Music Unlimited has been one of the last to raise its prices. Other services like Apple Music, Deezer, and Spotify Premium have increased their pricing earlier.

Amazon Music Unlimited offers a deep catalog and has added features like Dolby Atmos spatial audio, making it a competitive option for music streaming. The service is particularly attractive for Amazon Prime members who can enjoy a slightly cheaper monthly subscription fee compared to other options.
