E3 did not take place in 2022. It was initially planned to be an online-only event, but it was ultimately canceled. Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest, which included a trailer-packed digital showcase as well as an in-person event for journalists and influencers, filled the hole for gaming lovers.
