Before the debut of the much-anticipated horror game, PlayStation trophies for the forthcoming Dead Space reboot have been revealed. While PlayStation trophy revelations are frequently fascinating on their own, if only to show the degree of complexity in a game, there’s something distinctive about the Dead Space remake’s list. Fans of the original Dead Space may use the Trophy list to compare the new game to the old, see what’s been maintained, and see what EA Motive has opted to modify.
The PlayStation trophies for the first Dead Space were noted to be very difficult to get. There are just under 50 trophies and although most of them are focused on completion, such as finishing Dead Space’s chapters, utilising weapons, and killing particular opponents kinds, there are some challenging and hard medals, too. Particularly demanding prizes include defeating the game on its harshest setting, completing it entirely with the Plasma Cutter and no other weapons, and upgrading all weapons and equipment. Tricky achievements include locating the mythical Peng Treasure, and passing through Level 6 of Zero-G Basketball.
The awards in the Dead Space remake are mainly comparable to those in the original game, although with some surprising modifications and additions. For the most part, it appears like the whole Dead Space story development remains the same. The Dead Space remake contains all the same chapter-based awards. Similarly, most battle awards are similar if not identical. The updated game does eliminate several odder original game combat awards, and instead includes some simple ones that encourage players to exploit features like stomping, kinesis, pinning adversaries, and cutting/ripping off enemy limbs.

However, the new Dead Space prizes are rather exciting. While the basic plot of Dead Space looks untouched, these trophies hint that EA Motive may have some surprises for traditional Dead Space fans to find. There are also some hidden prizes which won’t be included here that are extremely fascinating.

For those who are concerned, several of Dead Space’s most iconic prizes have survived. The Trophy for Level 6 of Zero-G basketball survives. The mysterious Peng Treasure Trophy survives. The Shooting Gallery Trophy has been modified to “Survive the Shooting Gallery.” And there are still awards for finishing the game on its maximum difficulty (now dubbed Impossible) and for completing the game entirely with a Plasma Cutter.
Overall, based on these leaked Dead Space remake prizes, there’s a lot to be excited about. Nothing of substantial relevance from the previous game seems to have been eliminated, several quirks have been addressed, and there’s, even more, to uncover than anticipated. The quality of the Dead Space reboot remains to be seen, but PlayStation Trophy seekers have a lot to be thrilled about.
