Corsair, a prominent player in the enthusiast keyboard market, is aiming to strengthen its position by acquiring Drop (formerly Massdrop), a well-known brand recognized for its customizable mechanical keyboards and key switches. This acquisition will allow Corsair to expand Drop’s community-centric keyboard line while leveraging its capabilities to develop new products for its in-house brands, including Elgato.
Under the terms of the deal, Drop will continue to operate as a separate brand within Corsair, managing all existing purchases and customer support. The financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed. Drop’s CEO assured users that the company would continue collaborating with community favorites while improving its ability to serve customers outside of the United States.
