Classic Call of Duty Games Go Offline on Nintendo Wii and DS

Several classic Call of Duty games on select Nintendo platforms have permanently lost their online features, affecting players who still enjoy the classic Call of Duty experience.

While it’s true that very few players are likely engaged in Call of Duty on Nintendo’s older consoles, there are still gamers who enjoy the classic Call of Duty experience. Additionally, some players may have been deterred by the newer COD titles and their live-service approach to content, progression, and monetization, prompting them to revisit entries from the early 2010s.

The silver lining is that Call of Duty titles from this era on consoles and PC, such as Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops, are unaffected and continue to operate as usual. It’s also possible that a future COD installment may reintroduce classic features for veteran players, even as it includes modern elements like celebrity skins and seasonal content.
