Fans of classic arcade shoot ’em up games have reason to celebrate as the iconic title, “Radiant Silvergun,” is making its way to the Steam platform this November. Originally developed by Treasure, this legendary game made its debut in arcades and later found its way to the Sega Saturn in 1998. Revered by many as one of the Sega Saturn’s finest, “Radiant Silvergun” has secured its place in gaming history as one of the greatest 2D shoot ’em up titles of all time. It’s also credited with rejuvenating the genre’s popularity in the West during the ’90s, following a period of decline.
The eagerly awaited release date for “Radiant Silvergun” on Steam has been officially announced, with the game set to launch on November 3, 2023. This PC port is based on the Switch version of the game, a collaborative effort between Live Wire and Treasure. However, what sets it apart is the ability for players to choose between “Classic” and “Modern” gameplay modes. The “Classic” option pays homage to the Sega Saturn and arcade versions, recreating the original experience.
