Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Disables and Resurrects the Pistol

Raven Software, the developer of Call of Duty: Warzone 2, has disabled the Revive Pistol in the game. As an ever-evolving game with updates that might possibly conflict with preexisting aspects in unanticipated ways, Warzone 2’s constant development does come with the danger of items having to be temporarily deactivated to iron out flaws, even if its player reaction will be frustrated.

A daring addition to the battle royale, the Revive Pistol is a field improvement that, when used correctly, has the ability to change the dynamic of a fight by providing a quick way to bring fallen players back while they are a long distance away. It may also be used to go back into the fight faster when other means of self-revival are too sluggish. Because of its use, it is one of the most difficult objects to find in the game, but once located, it might be the deciding factor in winning a battle.

Raven Software, the creator of Warzone 2, announced on Twitter that the Revive Pistol has been disabled until it examines a problem. The problem and its severity are unknown, as is its connection to the Revive Pistol, which means that the field improvement will be unavailable for an unknown period of time, leaving players with only earlier revival techniques accessible.

The reaction has been divided, with some players outraged by the modification and others asking for more changes to the game. One commentator commented that Raven Software should be cautious since their player count was showing, perhaps referring to Warzone 2’s reduction in engagement. Another comment offered a video of a player who was able to spawn a large number of Revive Pistols, implying that the problem may be an exploit that was discovered, providing those who exploited it an unfair edge.

Because duplicating objects is an exploit that was meant to have been patched out of Warzone 2, it is logical to assume that the Revive Pistol was a leftover from the exploit. If this is the case, the problem may be fixed swiftly, and the tool may shortly be added back to the game’s rotation.

Whatever the reason, the news is unlikely to appease anybody who is already dissatisfied with the state of Warzone 2. Players have already voiced their dissatisfaction with the imminent DMZ Mode reset, and the temporary removal of an item that provides complexity to the gameplay will do little to alleviate their concerns.
