Call of Duty Publicly Shaming Cheaters in the Kill Feed

The latest update to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty: Warzone season five includes a new addition to the Ricochet anti-cheat system. When Ricochet detects and removes a “problem player” who is cheating, the game will now notify all players in the match through the kill feed. This real-time notification lets everyone know that a cheater has been kicked out of the game and that the anti-cheat system is actively working.

The update is part of Activision’s ongoing efforts to combat cheaters in their games. In the past, they have implemented various tactics to deter and catch cheaters, such as making them unable to see enemies and taking away their guns. Recently, they have also been using clones of real players to interact with detected and suspected cheaters, making it more obvious when someone is cheating.

The naming and shaming approach is a way to deter cheaters by publicly exposing their actions and holding them accountable in front of other players. While this tactic may not completely eliminate cheating, it aims to create a more transparent and fair playing environment for the majority of players who follow the rules.
