In a significant move aimed at expanding its gaming ecosystem, Blizzard Entertainment has announced that it will be bringing some of its PC games to the popular gaming platform, Steam. The transition will commence on August 10th, starting with the highly anticipated Overwatch 2. While details about other titles joining Steam remain undisclosed, the decision to embrace this platform comes as a response to player demands for more gaming choices.
President of Blizzard, Mike Ybarra, emphasized that despite the move to Steam, Battle.net will continue to be a key priority for the company. He stated, “we’ve heard players want the choice of Steam for a selection of our games.” This strategic approach acknowledges the diverse preferences of players and aims to cater to their needs effectively.
