The latest race weekends saw Audi customer teams secure impressive results across various championships, showcasing the performance and versatility of the Audi R8 LMS GT3 and GT4 racecars.
DTM Championship
At the Lausitzring, Kelvin van der Linde and ABT Sportsline celebrated their first win of the DTM season in challenging weather conditions. Van der Linde’s victory in Saturday’s race, combined with a second-place finish on Sunday, propelled him to the top of the drivers’ standings. Teammate Ricardo Feller secured a third-place finish, further solidifying ABT Sportsline’s lead in the team standings and Audi’s position as the top manufacturer.
International GT Open
In the International GT Open series at Spa-Francorchamps, Olimp Racing’s Karol Basz and Marcin Jedlinski secured their first class win of the year in the Audi R8 LMS. Their victory in the 500-kilometer race moved them to second place in the Pro-Am drivers’ standings, just three points behind the leaders.
North Island Endurance Series
Luke Manson and James Penrose of Team IMS continued their strong form in the North Island Endurance Series in New Zealand. Despite challenging rain conditions, Penrose’s strategic tire choice allowed them to finish second in the 3-hour race at Taupo, following their victory in the season opener.
Audi R8 LMS GT4 Success
Audi privateers in the Audi R8 LMS GT4 achieved remarkable success on the Iberian Peninsula. In the Supercars Endurance season opener at Jerez, Spain, Patrick Cunha and Jorge Rodrigues of Veloso Motorsport secured a victory in the bronze category. Meanwhile, in the Ultimate Cup Series at Portimão, Pierre Arraou of Herrero Racing claimed two sprint race wins and two second-place finishes, while the GL Racing Team finished second in class in the four-hour endurance race.
