Apple’s Rapid Security Response programme will roll out speedier upgrades that will install on Macs without requiring a reboot

Apple’s Rapid Security Response upgrades now include significant security changes that “may be applied automatically between ordinary software updates,” according to the company. According to reports, for iOS 16 developer beta users, there is a new toggle under the Automatic Updates section of settings for “Install System and Data Files” to apply new security configuration and system data files. It states that “certain updates may only take effect once you restart your iPhone,” implying that some may not require a restart.
