Apple’s iPad Lineup Expansion: New Models, Features, and a Revamped Magic Keyboard

Upcoming iPad Models Include iPad mini 7, iPad Pro (2023), iPad Air 6, and More

The wait for a new iPad might finally be drawing to a close, and it appears that multiple new iPad models are on the horizon, according to sources cited by 9to5Mac. Among these, the iPad mini 7 is expected to make its debut in the not-too-distant future. While the exact release date isn’t provided, previous leaks have hinted at a launch either late in 2023 or early in 2024, aligning with this report.

The iPad mini 7 is anticipated to sport a new chipset while retaining a design similar to the iPad mini (2021). Although this might not be a groundbreaking upgrade, it’s still noteworthy, considering the current model is now two years old.

Moreover, Apple enthusiasts can look forward to a fresh iPad Pro (2023), featuring a powerful M3 chipset. This new iPad Pro is expected to come in two sizes, with both an 11-inch variant and a larger one. While the exact size of the larger model isn’t specified, previous leaks have suggested a 14.1-inch iPad Pro could be in the works.

Intriguingly, the report suggests that the iPad Air 6 might also come in multiple sizes, marking a departure from the usual release pattern. However, it’s mentioned that the second version might opt for enhanced specifications rather than a larger screen. There’s also a possibility that Apple could choose to release just a single version of the iPad Air 6, but a new iPad Air is apparently in the pipeline.

The last piece in this iPad puzzle is the new iPad (2023), which, according to the leak, is due for an update. This update is expected to be relatively minor, with a focus on “spec upgrades” rather than changes to the design or size. This suggests that it will likely continue with a 10.9-inch screen.

While the report doesn’t provide specific release dates for these iPads, it suggests that they should all become available between now and WWDC 2024 in June.

Lastly, the report also hints at Apple’s development of a new Magic Keyboard for the iPad. This revamped keyboard is expected to feature a larger trackpad and an aluminum enclosure. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard rumors of a more laptop-like Magic Keyboard, making it increasingly likely that such a product is indeed in the works.
