Apple Car Launch Inevitable, Says Analyst, Though Details Remain Scarce

Industry analyst Daniel Ives of Wedbush Securities has reiterated his belief that the long-rumored Apple Car is a matter of “when, not if,” according to an interview with CNBC. Ives previously expressed this sentiment in 2021, and he maintains that the Apple Car will be launched by the end of 2026.

Apple has never officially confirmed plans for an electric vehicle, and previous rumors of a partnership with an established automaker have yet to materialize. However, Ives, who has been accurate in some of his Apple-related predictions, remains confident in the eventual arrival of the Apple Car.

While speculation surrounding the Apple Car has waned in recent months, there have been persistent rumors and indications of Apple’s interest in the automotive industry. The company has been hiring executives from prominent car manufacturers, including Tesla, and reportedly striking deals with other companies for electric vehicle technology. Furthermore, Apple has been linked to the testing of autonomous vehicles in California.

However, skepticism remains regarding the actual existence and launch of the Apple Car. Entering the automotive market would be a significant and ambitious move for Apple, and it is possible that the rumors and hints are related to Apple’s CarPlay software rather than an actual vehicle. Apple CEO Tim Cook has been evasive when directly questioned about the company’s plans for self-driving vehicles, indicating that time will reveal Apple’s intentions.

As of now, specific details about the Apple Car, such as its features or manufacturing partners, remain scarce. While Ives’ prediction suggests an Apple Car is forthcoming, only time will tell if and when the highly anticipated vehicle will become a reality.
